This was the episode that I was hoping was going to follow Opie’s death, but I will take it even if it was a week later.  We are now really starting to see certain storylines come together with both the deal in place that Jax has with Nero as well as the home invasions.

The club is going to move forward with the plan to go into business with Nero after it was voted in at the table.  One thing that I took out of this is how Jax is really trying to make his own imprint on the club.  He is at least trying to shift the club away from the dangerous cartel and drug business and into the less riskier escort business.  We saw some resistance from the nomads at the table who are clearly all over Clay’s jock for some reason that I do not understand at this point.  So this one move is on Jax really and he needs to come through on this one and make sure that it does work out because he has already lost some people at the table after the whole Opie situation.  And I do not think that it sits very well with everyone that they are not going to do anything to avenge Opie’s death.

Onto the home invasions, which is something that will most definitely heat up in the coming episodes.  We saw this really take a turn for the worse as the target was the wife of Lieutenant Eli Roosevelt.  When I was watching the episode, I knew that there had to be a reason why they were showing her being pregnant and then I realized it had to be because she was going to be the target of a home invasion.  Unfortunately, no one was there to confirm this that I figured it out before it actually happened so you will just have to take my word for it.  I understand what Clay is trying to do by making Jax look weak and like he cannot protect the city, but he has to figure that it is going to come out eventually that he was the one ordering it all.  Now with evidence that it was white, which we may get in the coming episodes the focus will no longer be on Pope and the Niners, but who else could be doing this.  It may take some time for Jax to put it all together, but that may be the last straw for Clay as I think his role may be coming to an end this season.

A great scene took place in this episode as well as a crazy guest star by Walton Goggins, who had a complete transformation for this show.  When he played the role of a transgender escort who works for Nero.  This is something that the writers continue to hit on is great guest stars and also being able to get them into characters out of their usual elements.  That was definitely no different in this case and the interaction between Venus Van Damme and Tig was amazing to watch.  I think looking beneath this also shows once again the difference between Jax and Clay.  This is definitely not something that I can imagine Clay doing as he would have turned to violence or Elliott Oswald to get it done.  Jax is definitely trying to make his own path in Charming, but if things do not work out for him then he might not have very long sitting at the head of the table.
