Sons of Anarchy Season 5, Episode 10 Recap

Throughout the fifth season of Sons of Anarchy, Mike Aurigemma will take an in-depth look at the show. As always, beware of spoilers.

This was one of the better episodes so far this season by far.  There was so much going on between everyone in the club it was crazy to watch.  Who is helping who in the club at this point?  Who is what on alliance now?  It is unreal to see how everyone is starting to use people in the club to their own use.  The backstabbing between each character is unreal and I am really not sure what each of them are trying to do.

I have to start off with Jax and it seems like Bobby is really believing what Clay said about Jax turning into him.  That could have been just another great line by Clay to put into Bobby’s mind, but it definitely seems to be working.  So this has me wondering if Bobby will end up switching over to Clay’s side if this keeps going this way.  Bobby has never seemed like someone you want to go to war with and I feel like the sons may be heading in that direction.  Jax did have to make a call when it came to killing the man who killed Opie in prison.  That showed that Bobby is definitely not made for war and seems to want to keep the club out of any messy situations, but I think we all know they are too late for that.

Jax was also put in a tough position when it came to Juice as well.  With both Clay and Jax now knowing about him snitching on the club, Juice is going to be pulled in a lot of different directions.  One of the areas where I think Jax is definitely turning into Clay is how he is starting to become manipulative and use people to his advantage because he has something on them. He is doing this with both Juice and Gemma now and although it may be for a good reason it shows how far he has come.  I am really not sure what Jax is planning on the Tig side of things.  At first I thought he was never going to hand Tig over to Pope, but now I am starting to think that he actually might.  I am not sure what Jax is really trying to do at this point. He definitely does not care that much about getting the club rich or he would plan to stay with the cartel and he has not done a great job at all by keeping them out of negative publicity or war.  So maybe he is using Tig, Juice and Gemma and that when is done with them all they will end up being fed to the wolves.

I could not go an entire recap without touching on Clay as I actually feel like he may be trying to stop what might be happening to Jax from the cartel.  I do not think that was his main reason for going to talk to them and although that may have been in the back of his mind I do not think getting Jax killed what his plan.  Maybe he is fooling me too, but eventually everything he did is going to come crashing down on him and he will realize all the bad that he did.

As far as the Tara and Otto business, I found it extremely weird last episode and still do not know for sure why he wanted to get back at Jax out of everyone.  Tara is really fully entrenched now with the club and I cannot see her backing out of how deep she is in at this point.
